Who We Are
Established in 1884, the Melbourne University Tennis Club (MUTC) has been around for more than a century. The club has become one of the largest and most active sporting clubs at the University of Melbourne and has ranked in the top 50 tennis clubs in Victoria.
The club provides tennis opportunities to players of all skill levels through our mix of serious competitions and fun social events. Our main activity is the hitting sessions where members get to interact with each other in a super friendly setting. Players who are looking for coaching specifically will be well taken care of by our partner, the University Tennis Academy. Our comprehensive program of internal and external events is designed around the University’s academic calendar and is run by an active group of awesome volunteers.

At Melbourne University Tennis Club, our main goal is to provide an exceptional tennis experience to all people. Our vision will always be to create a community of active and healthy members, a place where people can forget about the stresses of daily life and enjoy tennis. Diversity and inclusion are at the top of our priority at all times, these values manifest themselves in everything we do. We cheerfully welcome people of all age groups, genders, physical orientations, backgrounds, nationalities, and skill levels to come along and play tennis.
What sets Melbourne University Tennis Club apart from other tennis clubs is our strong focus on interaction amongst members. There are many opportunities for members to meet new people, such as the regular club hitting sessions, or our social events. We aim to provide members with an environment where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves and get to know others through the awesome medium of tennis!
